I had the awesome opportunity to meet a guy (and future customer) who is a big time car collector. During our visit and his discussion of his two Shelby's, he asked my friend and I if we wanted to drive them.....Uhhhhhhh, yeah!!!
I just had to choose....

A 9k original mile '66 Shelby......
Or....

A low mile '68 Shelby.......

I chose the '66.....I just had to.......it's history, man...

What would you have chosen?

No question. The '66.

Oh, and nice to see you posting again. Don't recall hearing from you in quite a while.
 
I would have gone with the 66 then swapped with the friend on the return leg of the trip.....
 
We actually got separated and I got lost as I didn't know the area. Had to pull over and check my phone GPS.....ahhhh, the juxtaposition......

If given the chance I would have taken the '55 300 SL gull wing Mercedes over them all.....talk about a museum piece. Maybe in the future....I hope.
 
Yep. Doing separate renderings of the two Shelby's. Hoping to impress enough to do more.
Apparently he has even more cars stashed at a local airport hangar too.
Just in this garage was 2 Porsche speedster roadsters, 2 early 911's, a '66 corvette vert, a '57 Chevy vert with original fuel injection and a '55 Corvette roadster.
He also had a 1909 car that was a manufacturer I don't recall. Looked like Chitty-chitty Bang Bang....lol
 
I would choose the 68 ..............and on the way back the 66 ...........if I was that lucky. :D:D:D

Speaking of the 300 SL Gullwing. About 15 years ago, I drove one back to the dealership after changing the battery.
The customer sat in the intervention car on the way back and went mad/wild , when on a straight edge , I gave the car the spurs.
He gave me the thumbs up when arriving at the dealership.:p:p
 
It's hard to believe that the 300 SL has a 40 gal. fuel tank!!!
WTH?!
Apparently the previous owner kept very meticulous notes about everything....every service, even every full up...including the gallons and price per gallon....crazy!!
My boys and I got to sit in it at least.
 
Oh yeah...special procedure to get in is right....I can see why they could have stopped production just over that!
