Deep Sump Oil Pan

I am looking at oil pans and I am thinking about buying a Moroso deep sump pan. It's not a T-pan just a deep sump. The depth is about 8.5", do you think that is too deep for a 67 with an FE enigne? I am concerned with ground clearance. Are any of you guys running a deep sump pan like this.

Let me know what experiences you have had with them.

Thanks

I would only use that pan in a drag car. The OEM 67 FE pan is 5-1/2" deep. That Moroso would be great in an application that you wouldn't have to worry about clearance problems. It would hang lower then the crossmember and be the first thing that gets hit with stuff.

Even on a small block with a stock pan, the pan is going to be the first thing that hits the ground, because even IT will be lower than the cross member. It's a crossmemer, used for structural integrity. It's not a skid plate.

Thanks for the responses, I ended up getting a Moroso t-pan. It's 6" deep which will definitely help with the ground clearance.
