disc brake proportioning valve

im switching over to to 69 front discs. I plan to run them for a while and eventually add explorer rear discs. I think for now, im going to run a 70 Maverick master cylinder. My question is do i keep the stock all drum distribution block or eliminate it and go with this proportioning valve? Or do i run both?

Im thinking this valve should do me good for front disc rear drums, and eventually four wheel discs? Anything i should know? Im kind of lost trying to figure out the braking stuff. The info out there seems to be all over the place with plenty of arguments on every topic.

You would use this block in place of your existing one. Good choice.

For that kind of money ? don't hesitate , buy it .

i did, i found it cheaper at speedwaymotors.com, then summit beat it by a couple dollars. I just bought it for $54.

That prop valve/ dist. block should work for both systems since you can adjust it F/R for disc/drum. If you switch to disc/disc you'll need a different MC but should still be able to use that vavle.
Wow, those really jumped in price, they were $55 a few months ago....I guess since the solid block SSBC/Summit ones were ~$100 the wilwoods were going too cheap?

With this prop valve, could i run an all disc mc, now with front disc rear drums, and dial it in? Or is it best to wait?

Anybody mind sharing their set up?

Do these proportioning valves have the shuttle feature that factory blocks do which will lock the outlet port(s) in the event of failure of either the front or rear brakes?
