I am finally pulling the plug on my RetroTek EFI system. I am looking for suggestions on which carburetor and fuel pump I should be putting on my 347.

Engine Specs.
347 cubic inch 302 based roller block engine
Dart Pro 1 heads
Edelbrock Air gap manifold
Compression Ratio - 10.25:1
Cam Specs:
- Intake SAE - 281
- Exhaust SAE - 285
- Intake @.050 - 232
- Exhaust @.050 - 236
- Intake Lift - .566
- Exhaust Lift - .571

Flywheel horsepower:
Torq - 434 at 4400
HP - 471.5 at 5800

Thanks,
Tim

Tim,

I've had very good luck with my 650DP that I bought from Performance Carburetors. Bought it 3 years ago and they took all my engine , tranny and gear info and set the carb up on a dyno. Not sure if they still do it, but it was well worth the money. I've not had a single carb related problem since (used to have sputtering and coughing in hard corners).

I would imagine you'd need a 700 or 750.

Forgot to add; Holly fuel pump: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HLY-12-289-11/

I have edelbrock performers on both my 67 and 65. I like them. Simple and just work.

I do like the DP carbs. Not fond of the vacuum secondary Holleys though.

If I ever change out the carbs on my cars, it will be a DP.

I do get some sputtering on hard acceleration during hot weather. I think it is a fuel pump issue not a carb issue. I have a stock fuel pump.

Thanks, I'm looking at:
- Holley Ultra 4150 Aluminum Double Pumper
- Holley Street HP Carburetor
- Holley Aluminum Street Avenger

I'm waiting to hear back from my engine builder for suggestions.

Mark - Do you have a link to Performace Carburetors? If I send them my engine specs can they custom build to my needs?

Thanks,
Tim

I don't see the custom spec info on the site anymore. You might want to call them.

Here's a pic of the carb.

I have nothing but raves for my Bigs Stage 5 on my 410c.
I sent Jesse all my motor specs and he sent me the carb....never even needed to change the jets or adjust the idle screw. It ran perfect out of the box, backed it up on the dyno with perfect a/f, and the car has run like a raped ape since I bolted it on.

Nick,
Can you post a link or a website?

Thanks,
Tim

To be honest, I don't know why I went with PC over Bigs way back when. Both seemed like very good options. Let us know what you decide Timbo.
