doctor doctor

well I made it home from all my travels this week. I had a doctor appointment today cuz my blood pressure has been crazy high lately. Anyway, the SWMBO came with and made me show the doc my boo boo I aquired from riding the ATV almost two weeks ago. He sent me to the hospital to check and see if I had a blood clot.

Note to self: Don't open "doctor doctor" while eating lunch.

Hope everything is okay.

:lol :lol I was trying to think of a good photo caption for that one as well. You beat me to it. :craz fd

Note: High BP is nothing to mess around with, get that taken care of.

That's not a "normal" looking bruise / I'd have thought it would've been gone after a couple of days much less a couple of weeks and high blood pressure is also nothing to play around with.

Glad your doctor is checking things out and hope you feel better soon.

thanks guys, he has had me monitoring the BP for a few weeks. It's been as high as 170 over 105. He is increasing, doubling my Toperal (spelling?). BP has not been normal reading at all. I have had bad headaches too, he says it the BP. The bruise is pretty dark and swollen. Spreading around my whole leg.
This picture is 180 degrees from the first one...

Sucks to get older doesn't it?

My blood pressure is always pretty much normal about 122/80 last time they checked it. I had high cholesterol though when I had my annual check up about a month ago...it runs in the family for me so I've been eating healthy and taking fish oil pills (yuck!) and frankly...it sucks! I want a cheeseburger and fries.

Glad your doc is staying on top of it.

YES, I really went downhill after I turned 40. I had a heat attack and have high cholestoral too. I take so many pills now it's crazy. I run 45 minutes a day on a tread mill (at home and in the hotel) I eat low sodium, non-fried, tasteless crap. I have sleep apnea too so I'm always tired. The side effects of all these drugs makes me feel terrible. :cry

well enough feeling sorry for myself, I think I'll go drive the Mustang really really fast!

I've noticed the closer I get to 40 the harder it is to keep weight off, etc, etc. I'll be 38 in August so glad to know I have nothing but fun to look forward to, LOL!

To my credit though, we had a pretty physical / aerobic class on the Aikido mat last night and I managed to keep up with the younger punks. The gym bores the crap out of me so the only exercise I get is doing class twice a week and trying to keep up with my 8 1/2 yo boys on the weekends.

Wait till you see 50 in the rearview mirror if you think 40"s was a downhill slide---who ever called this time in our lives the "golden years" was a liar! Hope the bruise is just that and not a clot, how exactly did your wife hit you???

I actually did it riding the ATV. I was a little aggressive trying to jump a ditch and didn't clear it completely. When I hit the other side the nose was pointing down and I had the wheels turned a little bit. I slide forward on impact into the handle bar.

The last time I had a complete physical the doc said I have the body of a healthy 18 year old....

of course that was in 1975! Yes, I have been very lucky, healthwise. (knocking on wood)
