Man, really nice! Next time I'm in Central Florida I'm gonna harass you to see it in person. Painting the car at home is very impressive.

Thank you for all the fine accolades. Painting at home was just fine. I have not sanded or buffed it yet do to my return to work after Colon Cancer. She appears as a satin white Rat Rod Look and By Gosh it is growing on me. SOO many lookers love her and I have lost track now of how many comments I have had. Just yesterday an older couple slowed by the pump and the lady very politely said she loved my car and that it was just like the one they had when they were younger...LOLOL ...the husband mumbled immediately "it was a 67 we had hone...man" Like as if he had moments ago just tried to tell her they are not all the same and then she blew it by saying the wrong line...LOL. any way here is a different angle to show the satin look of the clear coat as well as how much new carpet will fade in one year, it was as black as the interior. I kinda like it too. Current tested MPG 12.8 AHHHHH , I keep thinking it must be a mistake. I have had 21,19,15,18 and now 12...perhaps I am enjoying the throttle as I approach 500 miles around the block :)

Looks great Mark.

For the faded carpet, I used to get some black interior dye (dye, not paint) and spray the carpet with it every couple years. Before the dye dries take a bristle brush and "scrub" the carpet. It works the fibers loose that may be clumped by the dye.

For most of the last 6 months the car has been outside covered to free up garage space. I have classic boats (Chris Crafts, 30's , 40's ) that have to be dry more than the Mustang.

the satin look kinda makes it look like it's the original factory paint... you know not all trailer queen-ish :ecit

Very nice - don't worry too much about the sanding / buffing. While I appreciate the 'glass' look of soo many paint jobs nowdays (and the skill/work level involved), that's not normal - and certainly not what our cars looked like new.
