I was wondering if anyone has painted their drip rails, if so how did you prep the chrome? and how did it hold up so far.

The ones on my last '66 were painted.......no chrome on it....just painted the metal.

thanks AZ pete n tarafied, kind of a dumb question-how do you take the trim off? there's just a steel channel underneath?

I used an old bottle opener on mine. It just snaps over the rail.

I will be going with the HD/Lowes/Ace paint mixing stick route and hammering it out from the inside out.

I have used the flat side of one of those metal can openers with a little tape wrapped around it. I started at the front, prying from the bottom/inside and it eventually popped off with no damage.
