Edelbrock valve covers !"(/

Being cheap I bought old Edelbrock valve covers without thinking much. The breather holes a deep, I can't find grommets. Universal grommets for aluminium covers have about half the groove of Edel cover thickness. The bolts holding cover are not easy to find as the recesses to too shallow for normal 1/4" UNC bolts. And although they are "tall" the thickness eats away room for oil baffling with roller rocker lock nuts. :hs

Find another sucker to offload these or
just stuff the holes universal grommets, buy some allen bolts and make some plumbing for crankcase ventilation.

That's what I am going to do tomorrow, however, then the grommet would probably hit lock nuts.

Damn, should have bought those brand new Ford Racing covers. Probably would have been cheaper as a whole.

Check the inner lip where the gasket goes for casting imperfections. I had trouble with a leak and had to grind these smooth. They look like little circles and may have a ridge on them.

Hey

thanks for the tip.

In my current engine I have old Shelby covers but they must be good as the gaskets really old, hard and formed so that they clank when I drop them in place. However, no leaks.
