Electronic Power Assist Steering

I would like to add Electronic Power Assist Steering before the Power Tour. I noticed CJ Ponies sells a kit. Has anyone used this kit? Thoughts?

I have the EPAS. Had it installed 21Aug21. I did have Ford PS, original unit. It would always leak and I needed to rev the engine for pressure while turning at slow speeds. Had to change the steering to Manual (kept all PS parts). Also got the IDIT column (with tilt wheel) while doing the swap. It also comes with a rheostat which can change the effort needed.
Its a pain but I'm sure it would be easier with engine and seats out of the way. Had it tucked up right under the dash. Very tight fit.

My first big drive was a slow cruise show. It was so nice to drive slow and still turn with ease. Now its not like the '67 PS where you can steer with one finger but its not arm building like a manual. A nice compromise between the two.

You can buy direct from EPAS and get direct advice rather than someone at CJ parts counter.

If you have a orignal steeringbox with the long shaft , you don't need to cut the shaft to remove it from the car.
Last year I installed a Borgeson system and I didn't want to cut the steeringshaft ( long style) cause I needed it for the conversion.
Most people will cut the shaft to remove the steeringbox because its the easiest and fastest way.
I found a vid on youtube on how to do so. That dude removed a long shaft steeringbox through the enginebay/upway.
As far as I remenber you have to remove the LH exhaust manifold , export brace, LH valve cover and I believe also the master brake cylinder.
It gives you also room to assemble a steeringbox with the short steeringshaft.
my 2 eurocents.
