Engine blowing oil

The 289 hipo engine in my 67 is blowing oil, and it looks for all the world like it is coming out through the dip stick shaft. I have never seen or even heard of this. Opinions?
 
Be sure your PCV valve is functioning properly. What you have is the blow by from the cylinders is being forced out the dip stick and taking some oil with it.. I had this happen on a 302 2 Mustangs back. I found the proper PCV valve and it stopped. Also make sure the drivers side has a vented oil filler cap.
 
Yup, Got it going on with my cleveland right now. I am venting through a breather right now. If you rev the engine in neutral you will probably see oil blow out of the tube. I am going to do compression and leakdown tests to verify cylinder condition. It looks like it is going to need to come out and get freshened.

It probably is blow-by past the rings. It could be cylinder walls, rings, piston ring grooves or a combination.

At least start there. The PCV valve is a very likely culprit and is very cheap to fix.
