who was it who recently bought a Ford Escape? My son is considering Buying one and ditching his Jetta

Great small suv Steve! Not one single problem so far. It's roomy, the stereo is pretty good and even the NA 2.5L 4 banger is OK. It will just get out of its own way! The turbo versions are fairly quick.

We bought one about 16 months ago. We love it, it was dealer car with 9 thousand miles. Since it was dealer car, we received all the new car perks and incentives at a discounted price. It was every option but a sunroof with the 2.0 turbo.

We traded our 09 Escape in on a loaded 17 Escape Titanium 2 months ago.
The new ones are really nice. 2.0 Turbo runs well.

My only complaint would be the auto stop/start.
It works as intended.
Just unnerving for the car to shut off at a stoplight, then instantly restart when you release the brake.
There IS an override, but you have to re-punch the button every trip.
OR... You put the shifter into "Sport" mode instead of Drive, and it doesn't stop/start. ;)

Thanks, guys.i will work with my son n I expect he'll get one. I would recommend he get an ecoboost

While not the same car I have had two Edges lately. A 2014 with the NA 3.5, and a 2015 with the 4 cyl ecoboost. 90% of my driving is freeway, and the economist only gets 1mpg better than the 3.5. I would skip the ecoboost on my next Edge as it works way too hard and still doesn't compare to the power and drivability of the 3.5

Exactly what my son did back in June. dumped his '06 Jetta (POS) for a 2014 Escape 1.6 ecoboost with 16K miles . He loves it...
