Even aliens would have brought back that plane by now!

Been following this as everyone else has too.....
They'll find it....eventually.

If the plane had crashed, wouldn't the black box emit some type of homing device? If so, that would mean it did not crash, right?

This smells worse than 3 day old shrimp hulls.

I think it's known where it's at and what's going on. The public just ain't getting the info for whatever reason.

What is the range on the black box signal and what triggers it? Could the bad guys have shut it off as well? That is a very big, very deep ocean where it is suspected it may have gone down.

My guess is terrorism of some sort by a less than genius group who may have miscalculated fuel mileage! And Barney is also likely on the right path with the "they know more than they tell us" thought.

I'm theorizing that the plan was stolen and taken somewhere to be used for what could be described as illegal purposes. Believe it or not, there are many planes like that, that end up in Africa or Asia used for drug-running, clandestine operations, crime syndicates, etc. Typically the plane lands at a non-commercial and non-military airfield, gets repainted/renumbered and then is used.

The sad thing about this, if it happened for the Malaysian Airlines plane, is what happened to the people on board?

BTW, the black box (orange, actually) only transmits signals underwater with a range of perhaps a few 10's of miles. I'm not sure that planes have the equivalent of EPIRBs should it crash on land.
