There's no exhaust system on Trouble right now, but I'll be going back to what was on there--Magnaflows with an H-pipe. At a minimum, the pipes will be aluminized, but I'm thinking about stainless to go with the mufflers. The tailpipes are original 68 quad tips. The big decision is whether or not I get the system welded. If it is, then the only way to remove it is to cut it apart like I did with the last system. I'm hoping I won't have to remove it again, but the questions remains--clamp it or weld it?

My '66 is using a fairly generic exhaust system. 2.25" pipes running through bullet style mufflers. I bought this kit from Branda.

Some of the bends had to be "tweaked", so I saved the install until it was time to bring the car down for it's alignment. I helped my mechanic buddy with the alignment and then we moved the car over to a lift to hang the exhaust. I was very proactive with the exhaust install as the job progressed, but then I got distracted by a phone call and had to leave for 1/2 hour. When I came back the car was done and on the ground. I went for a test drive for the alignment, everything checked good, I paid the labor/alignment bill and went home. A couple days later I had the car jacked up and noticed NO H PIPE!!!! WTF? I specifically told the guy doing the install to add in an H pipe. While mocking up the exhaust, we even measured and marked the pipes where the cross pipe would be added. I left for a damn half hour and apparently the exhaust guy "forgot". I was pissed at the time, but I'm over it now. One of these days I'll bring the car back down to him and we'll install the cross pipe.

I have Try-Y's going into a Dr.Gas X pipe, 2 1/2" pipes into Dynomax race bullets, then exiting out the side. Bought the parts and made it myself, had to tweak the front tubes of the X pipe to meet up with the headers.

Full tube ceramic coated Hooker super comp.'s into 2.25 inch pipes with an H pipe crossover. Turbo mufflers with dual tailpipes over the axle exiting under the rear valance with 2.5 inch stainless tips. Sounds a lot faster than it really is.

Here's my setup.

351w
-JBA Shorties
-2.5" pipe all the way out the back
-x-pipe
-Dynomax Ultra Weld mufflers
-Oval stainless steel tips

I recently had v-band clamps installed with the mufflers so I can disassemble the exhaust system without the use of a lift. I took the whole system apart and painted all the pipe with ceramic paint a few weeks ago. It's looks great now, but we'll see just how long that paint will last.

Here's an older pic taken before I had the v-band clamps installed.

I'm running Doug's headers (ceramic coated) into stainless woven flex pipes, then into Magnaflow American Thunder system (x pipe, mufflers, exhaust dumps right in front of rear valence.

Here is my set-up. FPA headers, no h or x pipe, 2.25 exhaust to turbo mufflers and out to 3.00 stainless tips thru a GT valance. It was a quick set-up just to get me on the road but I think I will keep it this way. Nice and quiet in the inside of the car and it sounds good on the outside.

Hooker Comp ceramic coated into 2.5" Mangaflow Stainless exhaust with their X-pipe and polished mufflers. Topped the system off with some 70 Mach tips :lol No drone, which I absolutely love

Have to shar my setup. Dont laught too hard. LoL

Stock 2v 289
Stock exhaust manifolds
Not sure if the exhaust is stock, each runs from the exhaust manifold all the way down and out the back.

I have an mangnaflow exhaust kit that I bought performance peddler a while back. I had a to modify the exhaust kit to get it to fit correctly. I also have Doug's Full length headers ceramic coated.

Stock would have likely been a Y pipe merging into a single pipe running through a transverse muffler mounted just forward of the gas tank.

Thanks Dave, I kept wondering about whether it was stock or not, now I know. Live and hopefully ya' learn a thing or two along the way.

Hooker full-length Comps, 2 1/2 inch exhaust, H-pipe connector into Summit turbo's out thru the back
