Eyeglass rant---

I am aware of most "billing insurance games" but the eyeglass game kind of irks me, my teamster ins has eyemed for the prescription eyeglass ins. I went to lenscrafters yesterday for an exam and glasses, then the guy priced me my glasses, he said $439, after my insurance paid, I could walk in most anywhere and buy them over the counter for less than that,I told him to skip ordering tham and paid my $10 dollar co-pay for the exam and left, why does everyone have to try to rip off each other, just like hospitals where there are seperate prices for those with ins. and those without. we as a society are in trouble and it is catching up with us---okay rant over--(for now)

I feel your pain. I gave in and went to Walmart and got ordered a pair of glasses and frames for their $38 deal. That, I can afford. Ins or no ins.

I just went to Sears for their 2 for $99 ea. sale.... Of course the total came th $320.00... :po

But with "thinning" the lenses (why don't they just DO that) progressive bi-focals and photo (sun) lenses i do expect to pay extra...

I was never planning on speaking of eyeglasses as it just irritates the heck out of me to the point that I become obnoxious with the poor girl at our optometrists office. $325 for a pair of sunglasses? FML. I refused to pay it and walked out, but since Gabby was getting her pair she stayed and paid for them. $650 for two pair of sunglasses? And this was on top of our insurance's $100 frame/$100 lens coverage. I do like the glasses though and wear them almost constantly.
