Last week I squelched like a european goat when i found a 1970 F250 camper special with an incredible body 30 miles from the shop for 500$ OBO! so i brought it home. The 390 was locked up tight so i put ATF in the plug holes and broke it loose.

I was shocked that EVERYthING was there original and working, except the spark! so i grabbed the test light and checked the ignition wire to the coil it has steady power, I replaced the coil 2 times and no go.-

I also put a new distr. to coil wire/condens./and points cleaned the cap and rotor still no spark. I'm stumped I know it's probably simple but im pretty stupid. :wth

Plugs are not new, nor are the wires,i have been checking for spark by pulling the plug out and looking for spark. I dont think the coil is sending any charge, i can pull the wire off the dizzy a 1/4 " and not see any spark?

You say there is power to the coil, did you check for power when cranking eng also?
Check the brown wire from the sol for power in crank mode.
