Sounds like a good kid that made a mistake and is doing his best to make up for it. Sad story, the kind that happens too often. I'm sure we could all post one of those from our past, what a waste.

My small hometown got it's first High School a couple years after I graduated from HS in the next town over. Immediately after one of their first football games, a student fan was heckling one of the players as they left the field. The player walked up to the kid, punched him in the face and killed him on the spot.

Bad shit happens all of the time to otherwise good people.

He's learning more about growing up and being a man than he ever would have if he had gone on to Arkansas or another D1 school and never stumbled. Great story.
