I made reservations at the Hampton Inn in Chattanooga late last year near Honest Charlies for June 6th. My wife was checking our reservations today online and the Hilton Honors website didn't have our reservation. I called the Hotel directly and it turns out they changed brands and are now a Comfort Inn. They did NOT retain my reservation.
SOOO if any of you HAD reservations at the Hampton Inn, it's now a Comfort Inn and you probably don't have a room reserved.
I am sure glad my wife checked (she worries a lot) because we would have showed up and had no where to stay!

We're not staying there but thanks for the heads up Craig. Were those your reservations or did you find that on another site? If they were yours did you get new reservations?

It was my reservations. We usually stay in Hilton because I do for my job and we can use points. In fact that is how Tara discovered we didn't have our reservation anymore. She was looking at hotels I booked and seeing if she could transfer them to our points. I booked them last year. When I called the Hotel direct (it was still the same phone number), they told me it changed chains in January. Because it was a different chain they didn't get any of the Hilton info such as my reservation. Hilton should have notified us and I will take it up with them. In the mean time we were able to get a new reservation at the same hotel. I picked it because it's close to Honest Charlies and there is a big after Power Tour wing Ding going on that night.

Looking forward to meeting you. Hope to be able to do a BBQ before we go, I am trying to figure out the times.

92 days

For those who have done the long haul before, what is the typical schedule for the first Friday and Saturday?

Hi John, Last year was the first for me and being it left from my area, what I can tell you is.

Friday there was a lot of different cruises/shows going on in many of the cities and it will be the first day of registration.
Saturday, registration and a Big gathering of everyone that are doing the Tour and not. All the vendors will be setup, selling and giving away things. That will last a good part of the daylight hours but you can leave at anytime.
Sunday, up early, meet at the venue (if you want) and leave in a long line of real cool cars.

Wotcha planning? :confu :roll Coleman was going to have something at his place. :yah

Larry has it right on. Its pretty much the same each year. I highly recommend going to the Sunday drivers meeting and leaving with the group. It will be quite the experience. After that we usually don't do the drivers meetings. You may choose to do it everyday but i think once is enough. They really don't tell you much unless bad weather or road closures are a possibility.
Leaving out with a couple thousand hot rods and cool cars is a great feeling but you spend a lot of time trying to get on the road. The reason i would do the first one is it will be a weekend and usually the crowds gather more at overpasses and intersections and its fun to see everyone's jaws hanging open.

I need to coordinate with Jerry. But my thoughts were to smoke a couple bacon logs and serve it with pancake and Farm fresh eggs one morning. I am also always up for smoking a pork shoulder or two. if it can work out.
