Finally finished the new Hardwood Floors

Took me a week but I think they look great and the Julie is happy.

During the planning process, we went from me wanting to make my own floor with wood from the farm to buy int Hardwood to getting an engineered product. Had to d almost 900 sq. ft. I also had to paint the formal dinning room also.

At least I was smart enough to hire someone to do the float on our not so level concrete. It sure was wavy.

Maybe now I can get back to one of the Mustangs!

Very nice transformation!!! Nothing like hardwood floors IMO. My knees can't handle doing any serious floor work anymore...

Brighten things up nicely. I layed about 500 sq. ft of the engineered stuff, rough on the knees and back for sure.

Looks great John. :thu
The engineered stuff is really nice now. We did an engineered hardwood in our living room about 3 years ago.

The new wall color is nice too. That green was pretty dark looking.

Looks GREAT!

My only suggestion would be to pull that brass light fixture down... Scuff with a scotchbrite, and paint it: http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp ... sid=249131 I've found it's easier to replace the chain with black or brown than to paint what's there. Easy update, for ~$10.

(Disclaimer: I own the LAST house ever built with Brass fixtures... Spent a LOT of time updating light fixtures, ceiling fans, door knobs, cabinet hardware, etc to oil-rubbed bronze... :thu NOBODY knows which ones I've replaced vs. spray-paint updated - and I HAVE that same exact light fixture.)

That fixture, which is broke, is actually on its way out but the pocket book need time to recover.

Looks great, I have oak (from 1918) --refinished in 1995--in every room but the bathrooms and kitchen, our old house even had cedar on the floors in the walk in closets in the bedrooms. I would have a hard time going back to carpet. I have almost that exact light in my dining room!
