FireFox or Chrome WTF

The boss gave me the old laptop on Friday to use. New job is good, I am still in the same grocery stores just now I am working on the video surveillance instead of the Fire Alarm system. I needed the laptop to connect to the DVR to check on things. So today he wanted the old laptop back and I got a brand new one. :thu The point of this post is that I brought it home and got it connected to my home network just fine. I has ie on it. ie is good for one thing, or maybe 2 :roll downloading Firefox or Chrome or so I thought. So now before the download they want an email addy and a phone number. OK I will give it a shot, get the text with a pin number. Now before the download they want to add crap to my toolbar. :wtf This is my work computer, I do not need that kind of junk, I just wanted a better browser. Oh the same thing with Chrome. :rant

All of 'em want to add a toolbar. Just uncheck it. After download go into programs and make sure it didn't install (toolbar). If it did you can uninstall it from there. Everybody wants to add a toolbar these days.

It's free advertising for them, but it's not required. The install screen just makes it look like it is.

Download it straight from Google. Sounds like you got it from CNET or dome shitty download site. There should be no add on involved.
