first trip , engine revs only at higher rpm.

The NorCal dude from Belgium
As you all probably know , i have converted my fastback from a C4 to a T5z trans.
I have pulled the engine and didn't touched the dizzy.Today i drove the stang for the first time on the road and when i am reving the engine , in the lower rpms , it just doesn't pull through.I hurdles.
Could this be the dizzy ?I havent check the timing because I havent any numbers on this.
I have a mallory powermaster coil and mallory hyfire ignition controlbox and an electronic dizzy.
I have replaced the balancer with a one from Professionel Product 80006.
Help , can anyone give me some numbers on timing? :cry

I could only refer to the stock timing settings but need to know engine, see in your sig - 351 4V but which one? 351W, 351C what year block? I'm sure someone could give you a more appropriate timing number for a more built engine but they'll need more info. on your setup - cam, carb, etc.

Sorry , you are right.
I don't know anything about the internals of the engine.Light modified I think.
Edelbrock 600cfm 1406
69 351 Windsor with edelbrock performer intake.

Stick a timing light on it, rev the engine and watch the timing marks. Should be a gradual increase in timing, as you pull back on the throttle. The exact numbers don't matter, as you can calibrate them to whatever you want. The main thing is that it advances.

Meanwhile I got some numbers on the timing.
vacuum disconnect from dizzy.
at 800-900 rpm : set timing at 15°BTC
Then hold at 3000 rpm to check if it is around 33-34°BTC.

Well, it's not distributor related then. I'm going to guess a fuel delivery problem. Your ignition looks like it works just fine, and is dialed in pretty good.

I don't suppose you have a fuel pressure gauge on it any where?

when i am reving the engine , in the lower rpms , it just doesn't pull through.I hurdles.

Perhaps you could explain that statement in greater detail. It's a bit vague to me.

at lower rpms , when I accelerate , the engine stalls and accelerate and stalls and accelerate.I sit in my seat like a cowboy on a horse at a rodeo.

I must say that I have a T5z motorsport trans ( different gear ratio's as normal T5 ) and still have a 3.00 rear end.
The rear end has to be changed to a smaller one like a 3.55.
That could be a part of the problem but the engine must have enough torque to pull through in the lower rpms IMO.

Ok, it still could be distributor. You need to put the timing light back on it and describe the action as you pull back on the throttle. Is it a smooth advance, or is it jerky? You may have the timing coming in way too slow and it's coming in junks instead of a smooth curve.
