Ford V8 plays Waltzing Matilda

Aussie V8 Supercars. What NASCAR oughta be, and they got a sense of humor.

LOL!! great!

You're right, I wish NASCAR would go back to this style.

I don't know many people, even true NASCAR fans, who don't wish that they would go back to roll-caged road cars. I don't mind if the engine is custom built (as long a it uses a production block) and if they have to use rock-crusher trannys and rear-ends, but the suspension, frame, and external sheetmetal should pretty much be something I can buy at the dealership.

I wonder if there is any way to start a new series based completely around this concept. The hard part would be getting some of the big-name drivers (Who can bring the crowds, sponsorship money, and media interest) to jump ship. MAYBE if it started as a short series that ran during the NASCAR off months. Give the drivers something to do in the off season to earn money, and fans something to watch.

The basic deal with the COT is it's insanely difficult to drive. Every driver is constantly complaining that the car is either pushing or loose or won't rotate the way they want. The radio chatter is constant complaining by ALL drivers. But the Crew Chiefs constantly remind them "Your car sucks, but everyone else's sucks too, so it's even" Yeah that's great.

And I'd rather watch REAL hopped street cars going 150 than skinned cages going 200.

I think it would work, but I don't have the dollars to find out :)

The Koni challenge series and le mans are the only races I watch. I find NASCAR and even f1 boring.

My problem is I like to watch circle track racing. I have a hard time getting into road racing. Maybe when/if I get my chance to test the stang on Road Atlanta I'll change my tune, but for now, whenever I watch it I tune out.

Whenever I have insomnia I turn on NASCAR and it takes care of the problem.

The Oz cars are awesome though. There is a league that runs here. Julio from JME and John from John's Mustangs and Classics were building cars for it. This was a long time ago, so I don't know where it is now. Looks cool though. Small cars with high performance V8s in them....Just what a pony car is supposed to be!

I love to watch the World Ralley cars, those guys have nerves of steel!

I grew up watching NASCAR and I lived close to 3 small local circle tracks, two dirt and one asphalt. Every Friday night I was at one and Saturday night at the other. I even tried my hand at a hobby stock one season on the dirt. I just can't get into the Hendricks Cup in anymore, I mean Nextel or whatever its called now.
And Steve, you haven't lived till you push your car on a road coarse! I took mine to the Nashville Speedway for an opentrack event and car show and took 3 laps (supposed to be parade laps) but I was "drifting" thru the twistys and man I gotta do that some more!!!
