found a "slight" vacuum leak

I was out working on the car, doing some minor thing to the motor when I grabbed the throttle body and the upper moved. I thought that I was imagining things, so I grabbed the upper, and it moved quite a bit. All the bolts attaching the upper to lower intake was loose -- not even finger tight. I found my torque wrench and retorqued them to about 20 pounds.

I can just imagine how bad of a vacuum leak I had... What really sucks is that I had it tuned pretty decent. It was running pretty good. And now I'm starting to the tuning process all over again. :cry

yep...It was the BBK. I was shocked to see it move!! The vacuum leak must not have been too bad. I was thinking that the car would run like crap, since I was tuning it with that leak. I think that I'll just have some minor tweaks to make.

Rob, I'm glad to see you getting lots of experience in tuning it. It will come in handy this fall when you come down and help me tune the fuel injection on my daughter's '67, when I tackle that problem.

Now if it was my car, the intake would probably still be tight, with 3 tools still attached. :ecit
