I was invited to the Stanford v. Washington State football game at Stanford Stadium last night. The "new" stadium is really nice, especially when compared to the "old" stadium with its splintered wooden benches. I guess it's been a few years since I was last there. When I was a kid, I was a "Junior Rooter" for Stanford football. This was a program where the neighborhood kids got into all the home games free so long as we screamed our lungs out rooting for the home team.
Enough reminiscing, the original point of this post is that with Fleet Week in San Francisco the Navy Parachute (Frog) Jumpers made a guest appearance with 4 of them jumping out of a Navy plane and parachuting into the stadium to deliver the game ball as well as trailing a huge American Flag as the Star Spangled Banner was being played. Seriously cool. This afternoon the Blue Angels perform at the Marina Green.
By the way, Stanford won 34-17. I guess I haven't lost my touch though my voice is pretty hoarse this morning!
