Front tire width for manual steering question - wheels returned

Re: Front tire width for manual steering question

I've got 225/60/15s on mine with a 4.125 backspace. Clears the fender without issue, but the inner sidewall is closer to the upper control arm than I would like. Next set will be 215s.

16X8 TTD's is only 4"

IMO, that's going to be a problem.

Yeah, 4" of back spacing doesn't sound like enough. My Vintage 45's have 4.5" of BS, and I don't think there would be any way a 16" x 8" wheel with 4" of BS would fit correctly on the front of my car.

I agree I didn't think TTD's had more than 4" of backspace but I do think I heard you could do one offs?

I also have 16x8 Vintage 45s with 4.5" back space. They fit great. I am running 245/50/16 rear, 225/50/16 front, I think I can double check but that is what I remember.

Re: Front tire width for manual steering question

No fret for on Monday John of OpenTrackerRacingProducts called me with a similar concern that these wheels with only a 4" backspace
weren't going to work so I returned the wheels and tires and got a 100% refund. Yes I'll be going with Vintage 45 series.
