Funky tasting beer

I need your wisdom. Usually I like the taste of my favorite brand (Sierra Nevada Pale Ale), but sometimes a perfectly good beer will taste...sour, for lack of a better description. I know it's my taste buds and not the beer's fault. There are few things more disappointing than opening a beer after work only to have it taste bad. Have you had this experience, and how do you cleanse/condition your palate to ensure good flavor?

Please hurry--Friday night approacheth. :craz

The first one is normally gone with very little taste residue so is washes the taste buds and sets them up for the anticipation of the second and it hits pretty good.

Sorry for the late response Frank.

As stated, you kinda just have to "push on through" for the first one. If at your disposal, sample various food stuffs until you find the one that goes best with that first beer. For me, I've noticed that my first Budweiser ALWAYS tastes better if I'm at a local mexican restaurant and snacking on their salsa dipped tortilla chips. Without the chips though I'll just "power on through" to the second one. By the time you get to the 8th one, taste is no longer an issue as long as they're still somewhat cold.
