Gauge cluster cost comparison

It took some time to find good deals on the gauges, but i did mine for just about 300 bucks. The deals are there, but it takes time.

I paid about $400 for my Autometer Sport-Comp gauges. I got a $40 rebate on the tach and $50 in Summit bucks for the tachometer.

I would not buy the plastic piece for installing the gauges. It is thin ABS plastic which is flat. There is nothing to support the top three screws which hold the instrument cluster in place. I'm using the original metal casing and cutting out the back. This approach works fine but just takes a little time to cut everything out.

It you do use the plastic piece to mount your gauges, you need to come up with a way to ground all the turn signal and brake lights. They are normally grounded through the metal backing plate.

Looks good lethal. That is a good point about grounding and I wondered the same thing. I priced all the Ultra Lite gauges separately using the electric speedo and sender for just under $700. That includes the speedo, gas, oil, water, and volt, which I'll probably mount next to me boost gauge above my glove box. Add another couple hundred for the new brushed aluminum bezel kit. After shipping to Alaska and the material cost, it may be a wash. Rich, I'll check it out. Do you do the 0-90 OHM gas and elec speedo?

Ford sender is 75-10 ohm. and 99% of our sales are electric speedo. We use the Mort Burton clear coated brushed aluminum so everthing matches, the other company's don't. We don't show the back of our gauge cluster, but I will tell you it has a new metal backing not some cheap piece of plastic. I could send you a picture of the back if you like. Rich.
