Getting new exhaust pipes $$$?

Well, I have been running the side exit exhaust with the dynamax vt's for a while. It's time to get this stuff professionally welded up. I knocked one of the pipes loose the other day and it sounded like a damn loud assed logging truck that midlife would be driving for the gubernent...lol. I decided to go out the back instead of the side, so new 2.5 pipes all the way from the mid length headers to the tail end. The guy is really old school and has a very clean and neat shop. He quoted me $240 for the above work and using my dynamax vt's. Sound about right for the $$$???? He did look at it and say "dang, you got that thing pretty low in the front"...lol

I got 'er done today. The pipes do come down more than I thought they would, where they go around that dang wide assed AOD. They are a good 3-4 inches below the frame rails. I went over some speed bumps and did not drag so I guess it's good to go. When I got home yesterday, I had to move the electric fuel pump and filter from the right side frame rail to up above the fuel tank so he would have room (today) to run the pipes and tuck the mufflers up out of the way. I am somewhat concerned that the pump is now above the tank level. This pump is for an F150 that had two pumps. One to push from the tank and then this one to the engine. I am only using the one pump so I am leery that it might get to be too much for it to pull from the tank upward and then have to push to the engine (using a regulator with bypass return for now with carb.). He did weld in the O2 bungs and put a plug in them for adding the efi stuff when I am ready. I had to go back to work on nights this week so I'll take some pics, when I am off again, for who ever does an AOD swap to have an idea on the exhaust setup that will work. I am dropping by when I am off again as he didn't have the rolled edge chrome tips to put on in the 2.5" size and had to order them . Had every size but those in the rack...lol
