I was in the Beaver patrol in Boy Scouts. I wonder what the Dad's thought about that name ?
I'm sure he was simply jealous.....

I would say that the beaver to us kids was an animal, to the Dad's it was too, just a different animal.
I honestly don't remember any smart remarks about the name from any of the adults. I think I still have the flag we would carry around the different Scout events.

I have an Oregon State T-shirt with that same logo. It was a gift from an alumni friend of mine. I dig it.
When I was in the Scouts (back in the 70's) I was in the 'Fox' patrol. We thought that was sooo cool.

Seriously, I attended a Boy Scout Leadership training course titled 'Wood Badge' and they put you in Patrols. We were directed to produce our own Patrol Flag. So, we bought a 3' X 5' OSU flag with that Beaver logo and orange you see on the airplane.
The other patrols made theirs and complainedd we bought ours. We said they didn't say you had to make one, just produce one. We also rubbed it in a little and said 'We're such a great patrol, Oregon State made our mascot theirs!'.
