I was in the middle of composing this post when the original thread I was responding to was locked. I believe this post has some value so I am posting it anyway!!
Having been here since nearly the beginning, and at VMF since late 1999, I have some opinions about the changes over there and for the most part I have shared those opinions on a number of posts here over the past many months. Cloney's comment in this thread about bitchy ex wives got me thinking, and perhaps the VMF related posts here are something entirely different. Rather than a bitter ex wife, could it be that the posts critical of the new VMF are part of a grieving process? A community that we once knew is now gone and depending upon the individual, that loss is dealt with alternately by denial, anger, pain, and for some, acceptance. This is not meant to sound like dime store psychology, rather a possible explanantion for the compelling pull this train wreck of VMF threads has on all of us.
I am gratefull to Rick, Randy, and the other pioneers of StangFix for investing the energy and resources necessary allowing the core of the old community to find a new home.
