Good thing the Mustang's not quite ready to go

Otherwise, I might have driven it into work today (2nd shifter). It was nice early :scar

Same here. I am constantly checking the weather since I have to drive my mustang everyday. I won't drive her if there's a 50% or higher chance of rain.

You'd never drive it up here then. We get barn stormers with only a 10% chance of rain! I won't drive my 66 if there's rain within a day either way. [nb]that is, assuming the car is ABLE to run[/nb]

Rain is not too bad, but that hail was vicious!

Funny, this story just came up the other day. A couple of springs ago, we had a freak snowstorm (this is Palm Springs area), and wouldn't you know, it was a day I had driven the Mustang. I've had this car forever, and it's never even been in the rain. I could have cried. I must have driven all the way home at about 10mph.

I take mine out to do doughnuts in the snow and rain!?! your kidding right? It's just water... now hail I can understand! :eek

Being that mine lives outside the RV, it gets all the weather. I better be able to handle it all, parked or driving.....

It seems like it is either 15 mins. or I will manage to make a turn into the rain.......

In all the years of playing with classics, I have always said I cannot own a garage queen. I just cannot bring myself to leave one parked. The blue one we built in Az. is as close to a "Queen" as I have done in a long time. The first year, we trailered it to shows and drove it on clear weekends. The shop that did the paint really screamed when we started driving it more. Then, I decided to drive it to work every day......I thought the painter would have a heart attack. I parked it on the side of a 5 lane highway, speed limit was 45, and it sat on the outside of a wide curve, plus it was a copper mining town so lots of big trucks. Never a problem......it is such fun to drive them....

Only thing that stops me from driving in rain is the fact the cowl vents leak BAD and the wipers don't work. :lol

Use rain-x on the windshield. Go to a trophy/awards shop and see if they have magnetic sign material. Get a piece big enough to cover the cowl opening by about 1" all around. I have driven up to 60 mph with that as a cowl cover. Cost me a couple of dollars....

Windshield leaks and the weather stripping is seriously nasty and cracked. RainX won't work. :craz
