Got a new toy

Those are coming as well! :thu

Since we're about to sell my Sebring, we needed another daily driver and so got the Firebird. Its hubby's 'toy' but I will be driving it. :part

The guy who had the S10 pickup decided to put new wheels on it and jack up the price. :shrug Oh well. We *might* get a Eddie Bauer edition SUV though. Hubby also has the Lexus for sale and somebody sent him a text with some pictures asking if we'd except a 2000 Bauer edition as a trade. :confu

Well somebody bought my Sebring about 30 min ago. Finally rid of that POS and one step closer to owning another (newer) mustang!!! :yah

As per :rulz ... pictures of the bird. Its not real pretty, but $1000 ...and it runs great, hubby likes it. Throw on a cheap maaco black paint job, put the other front bumper on, retint the windows and it will look sweet.

It came with the current bumper that is on it now, as well as one that looks like this

I told hubby that one is going on. I like the way it looks better than the current one. :thu Of course ultimately this will become my husbands toy, but for now I'm claiming it as mine since it was my sebring that was sold. LOL

My second car was an 85 firebird. Same body style.

Does it have the v8 or v6?

I had a brown(The Turd Bird) 82, 305 and auto, back in high school. It was my mom's and she made a bet that if I could get it running, I could have it. I called her bluff and got the car. In hindsight, I shouldn't have had it. Way too fast for me at that age, and ended up wrecking it.

My first car when I was 16 was an 84 camaro with the 305. It was probably not the best first car either. Did some stuuuuuupid things in that car too.

Love my 2000 Eddie Bauer Expi 4X4

It has the 5.4 liter V8. Hauls and rides better than any of our other newer cars.

You're doing better than my Explorer. It has a V6, 4x4 and runs about 14 - 15 around here with all the stoplights, etc. On the freeway I can hit about 18 mpg or so.

Decent looking project Kat, but to be honest not my favorite body style for Firebirds. When I was a kid I loved Trans Ams / Firebirds and I spent the entire year of '82 seriously PO'd at Pontiac for the change in body style.

I saved up money while driving a hand me down truck when I was 16 and could get a job. As soon as I could I bought an '80 Firebird. Lot of good memories in that car.

What I'm finding with the TA I have now though is things like power windows and locks make a toy a lot less fun and more complicated. I am still trying to figure out my passenger side door. Put the multimeter on the plugs on that side today. It's getting volts to both the power window motor and door lock actuator so I am guessing there is a ground issue somewhere. Still trying to chase that one down but haven't had a chance to get out the wire diagrams yet. Stupid service manual on CD...prefer the book that you can just go flip open on the work bench.
