I have noticed that Grease has been coming out of Shag's rebuilt steering box's vent. Is this typical for a newly rebuilt and will settle down (hopefully with grease still left in) ?

Sounds like an overfill. Just keep an eye on it.
Is the grease walking up the steering shaft? If so, that's completely normal according to Charles Turner.
Just called Randy of Precision products who rebuilt the box said it is normal for it to ooze out some grease in the beginning for he loads the boxes up big time. It should settle down very soon.
