My trip is to see my mom who I haven't seen in nine years. I am excited to be going home of course but this will be the first time I've seen her since my dad died (I didn't go to his memorial service because I was broke).

It's a LOT too far !! When I lived here Nome wasn't on my 'must see' destination list.
