That is cool! Lot of work left to do on that one, even after you spray it.

I am sure you know you HAVE to put up pics after you repaint, right?

its a harley "lightweight",also called a "hummer" produced from 48-66. engines ranged from 125cc-175cc. i probably paint more of these each year than anyone else in the country. here is a pic of a finished bike i painted a while back:

Were those the small Harley's that were built by a Italian bike company?

And be careful of the metal fatigue on that burned up bike. Depends how hot the fire was but the metal has changed.

those were pre "aermacchi" models built in the u.s.a. they started importing the aermacchi in 1967. luckily, the fenders are in decent shape on this & won't need much work. this isn't my first dance with brittle, burnt metal. check out the 37 sedan delivery in my intro thread. it was really bad...

Was it burnt as well?

yeah, burnt bad. worse thing was that the floors & rockers had already been cut out & the sedan delivery was like an old chevrolet, all wood body framework with a sheetmetal skin tacked on. most of the wood was burned into charcoal, so actually what i had to start with was a roof skin, two quarter panels & a cowl. oh, they don't make any repop patch panels for a delivery, so everything has to be hand made except the rockers & front floor (same as a coupe). here's a link to a build thread with pics on another site.

How much do those Harley's go for, financially? Very nice looking.

they sell in the $5000-$7000 range when fully restored. you can find a few cheaper than that lately. i've got a 56 i need to finish & sell as i have too many bike & scooter projects of my own already.
