Haven't spent as much time.....

....on VMF since being banned as I have today. Been reading all of JohPro's postings about his '66 I am buying. It is really amazing how much info is there and to follow the postings. I read them all years ago but to put them all in one batch and read is interesting. Real nice part of buying from a friend on line who is not afraid to bring up the good and the bad of building his cars. This is truly a "no surprises" purchase unless there are tools hanging on bolts......

I gotta agree with that Pete. Your right, ought not be any surprises there. You also know you got quality workmanship too. Pretty good deal if ya ask me! Good luck with the car.

He thinks he'll be saving money by not having as much work to do on the car in my garage, which costs him a six pack of Wattles beer. Damn you, Johnpro!

Well, the final savings amount will be really determined when I sell the '66 I have now. As I see it, some the things in the future of my current car were a trak loc 8", dual master and maybe front disc, AOD, seq. tail lights, and some body and paint to fix the PO's screw ups. Finding a paint shop here is one step past impossible too.

With John's car, most of that is done and some more than I was planning, the things his needs are minor, and not near as many PO screw ups.... :lol, and I see where I might make some money on selling the tools still attached to the bolts.....

And a big plus is the Wattles at Midlife's will be very enjoyable when there is not a few hours of work first....... :vic

LOL. That's just funny. I have never been bashful about voicing my opinions, retracting them when they are wrong, or admitting when I don't know something. There are probably some real gems over there in the archives of the VMF from me. Too bad it only goes back so far. My first post was right after I bought the car in Feb. of '09. I remember that I never did get an answer to my question, which seemed to kind of set the trend for the next 9 years. It always seemed to me that I answered a lot of questions over there, but my questions were usually too complex, I think, for most VMFers to answer, and I was left to either do trial and error or other research to find the answer. I think there is more expertise, by FAR, on StangFix today than there EVER was on the VMF.

I will admit, though, that I'm not bashful about my mistakes, and will admit them freely. I will also thump my chest about some of my more brilliant ideas! Basically, I think I just love to breathe, live and talk about Mustangs 24/7.

BTW, I think I'm still the top poster over there, aren't I? LOL Haven't been over there for pretty much the last year, and my top poster title will probably remain for quite some time.

Hey when get the car just make sure the lug nuts are tied down before you take it for it's first ride. :ecit :ecit :ecit :ecit

Fixed it for ya.

LOL. Guess they zapped that part of my brain. Yes, it should have said '99, when I bought the car. IIRC, I think I said in the classified section that I bought the car in '98 ... I guess that was false advertising, huh?

Ok, at the risk of looking even more stupid, what's BCE, midlife?

BCE = Before Classic Era, the currently accepted means of describing BC (Before Christ).

I'm no Midlife, regardless of my Haggis inspired title...

... but the correct definition is Before Common Era.

You're right. That happens when it's 3AM and you just woke up.
