Hi Guys
I am looking for a good and practical HD Camcorder .
What is important that beside good quality of video ,,, it must have also good soundrecording , very important.!!
I want to mount it in the car and beside video , I want also to hear the sound of the engine !!!!
A good and decent HD Camcorder without braking the bank of course !!
Your imput is welcome ......how small it is. Thanks.

Yep over here the GoPro is the camera of choice for ports oriented recording.
Its very small and shock and water proof.

I tried a gopro a couple years ago (before the HD version), biggest P.O.S. ever. The sound was horrible!

I have a Samsung SC-HMX 10C that I use in the car. I add a wide angle lens when it's in the car, but without the extra lens, it's only 4 3/4" long x 2 1/4" wide. Weighs maybe 1/2lb or so.

It takes pics and video, all on a hard drive or card.

Mark , are you happy with the sound recording? indoor / on-board and indoors ???

I have the samsung U10c
very good video & sound, but when you change from light to dark conditions, eg trees or building shadows, it takes a long time to refocus, so i dont recommend it, but for that reason only.

I haven't used the GoPro, just seen videos from motocross and supercross. The picture seems excellent and from the video I posted above, the sound is pretty spot on.

I own both a Canon HF10 HD camcorder and a GoPro HD. They both have their place. The Canon is better for zooming, filming the family, or placing inside the car on a mount. However, for the cool videos like mounting the camera on your roof, hood, or the side of your car, the GoPro is the way to go. Also, you can buy waterproof cases for it and take it in the pool, lake, or ocean with you. It also offers a cool wide angle fish eye view. I'm glad I have both.
