anyone running a heidts front end in 69 mustang with a 351c,heidts say you cant run a cleveland whats the story here?

Certainly is interesting for them to say that. Not much difference between the W and C in terms of footprint....maybe they were reading their handy dandy trusty mustang handbook and don't want to commit to an engine working that didn't come in the car for that model year ;)

Call them back and say "Hello I have a 1970 mustang with a 351c and would like to use one of your fine parts....." and see what they say ;)

i think the 69/70 front end is the same, maybe something to do with headers,i thought have this set up gave you more space :confu

Yes they are.....that's why I gave a bit of a tongue in cheek response. You couldn't get a 351c in 69....but you could in 70. If they are unwilling to commit for a reason as stupid as the car didn't come with that motor....asking about a 1970 would resolve it. I personally can't think of any significant difference between a 351c and a 351w that would make the c not work. They mount with the same mounts, they have oil pans of the same style, they are both small blocks......which is why I think it is them being dense.

I don't recall details... but thought this came up several years ago and recall someone stating that the Rod and customs frontend will work with a cleveland.

On the MustangsPlus site, they say this about the heidts kit...
Please Note: All of these kits require a rear sump oil pan. Some Ford engines may require a high rise hood to clear the intake system. These suspension systems are not compatible with 351 Cleveland engines.

I'm guessing the cross member location interfers with the rear sump pan. You might want to check out the Rod and Customs front ends as well. They have a good reputation customer service.

been in touch with heidts they say even with a custom rear sump from milodon i still cant use the cleveland what a bummer,i have bought a 69 with the heidts already fitted looks like a 351w

Why not give Rod and Customs a call... perhaps what ever they do different can be applied to the Hiedts...
