Help! Domain Name Question

My company has owned the domain name "aztlan.com" since 1994. We no longer have a website, although I just purchased space when I renewed the name about a month ago and am planning on getting it going again. We should still own "aztlanarchaeology.com" but I'm not sure. I've just been offered $10,000 to sell the "aztlan.com" domain name by a new t-shirt company. Our company e-mail address is not tied to it, but it is listed in a lot of places.

Advice please!
 
Tell em cash talks! Hell, I'd sell MY name for that (not that anyone would be caught dead with it but me)
 
Make sure you don't need the name and start negotiations. The first offer, like anything else, is usually a low end deal.
 
Actually, now that he's sent me an e-mail, he's trying to get it for $5,000 to $7,500. I'm going to keep it. If someone offered me $20K, I'd definitely think about. We were rather surprised to get it back in 1994. Now I just need someone to put my website together and his name can't be Bob.

Sell at $10k, certified check. Hell, I'm surprised you got it that long ago in the first place!
 
We were shocked when we got it back then. I was offered $500 about 15 years ago for it. He said he would do an escrow account, but I'm sure he won't go 10K now. His mouth got ahead of him. I'm going to keep it. We don't need the money right now and I guess I would feel like I was selling part of my company or myself and I'm not for sale no matter what anyone says. :craz
 
Escrow account??? That sounds kinda fishy. Isn't that what they use on the E-bay scams???

It's the name of an indigenous people during the pre-columbian time; they lived in the lower US southwest and Mexico.

It's become a name used for the separatist movement in Latino circle (and appears as such in some US textbooks, especially in CA). Any further discussion of that would require moving to the password protected boards.
