Help needed re: timing sprocket

I bought a new Cloyes timing set for my '67 with a '69 302. Upon opening I was greeted with the attached warning note. Comparing the old and new sprockets I see the new sprocket is flat on the face while the old one sticks out about 1/8 - 1/4", see picture. Should the spacer have been included with the new timing set? Using it as-is would cause the fuel pump lever to ride too close to the end of the eccentric.

I went to Napa, Autozone and O'Reilly's to try to get another timing set, no luck. None of them had any in stock. I ended up using the old sprocket. Chain is much tighter now.

Unless you are pressed for time, I would not reuse the old gear. Wears the new chain real fast. Use mail order and do the job once.

That's exactly it, it needed to be done today. I'm currently down to just the Mustang and the car I was borrowing is not available to me after today. I got it done. I'm still working on a replacement for the SHO.
