Hey Midlife...

Think I ran into your car today - but imagine my surprise when the fellow who owned it was not you!

Coincidence? Or actually your old car?

I agree with you, sure looks like his (former) car! Where did you spot it at?

Randy sold his car awhile back due to having some health issues.

New owner was on the Hot Rod Power Tour with it! He did say he bought it from a fellow in Florida in a city that starts with "P" because he was having health problems. He also said that the front plate was in honor of him... figured it had to be Randy's car!

The guy lives in Georgia but has hauled out for the Power Tour the past couple years, I think he said. He left everything exactly the same (bone stock) but had a guy build him a trailer hitch that mounts into the factory tie-down holes in the frame rails so he can tow around that little trailer. Apparently loves it very much and puts a lot of miles on it :)

I don't think it is Midlife. Why? Both horns located on passenger side (now), air conditioning added, missing small scratches on front bumper, tires have been changed (but that doesn't rule out the possibility of them being changed), GT stripe along bottom is missing, added passenger side mirror. There's a couple of body features that only I know about that I did not see in these photos. There are features that do match Midlife: the misfit of the trunk, the wheels, what look to be Koni shocks and the export brace.

Although the car was sold to a group in Brunswick, GA, I don't believe this was my car.

Got any more pics? Neat to see!

Hmm! He did say that he added on the AC to deal with Georgia heat, and the GT stripes were there (just not visible because of the crappy angle of the photos I took). The other things seem unlikely to have been changed though. It was a really clean, nice car - totally immaculate, red oxide undercarriage and all. I wish I had taken more pictures! This is the only other one I snapped:

If it isn't your car, then that's a super eerie coincidence that a fellow in Georgia bought a red GT fastback from a fellow in P___, Florida (he didn't remember the city) who was selling due to health problems. Even odder that the guy then put on a "Midlife" license plate!

I didn't ask where in Georgia he was from. Should check with the Dallas people tomorrow and see if they can find the car and verify! I won't be there, unfortunately.

Well, with the addition of AC, it does make a bit more sense that it is Midlife....I wondered where it ended up!

Oh the horrors of adding a trailer hitch!

Ha! He did show me how he had it custom made to bolt up directly into factory bolt holes in the frame rails so the car would remain unmolested. Pretty beefy setup. I was quite impressed!

Maybe next year I'll see him on the tour and see if I can get more pictures :) Seemed like a well-cared-for car. Pretty neat!
