Buenos dias from Santo Tomas de Castillo, Guatemala! I'm halfway through the cruise and having a great time. Have already done one day of scuba diving and two Mayan ruins tours. We had to miss Belize yesterday due to bad weather, which really bummed me out, but today is beautiful and sunny. On to Roatan, Honduras tomorrow and Grand Caymans in two days for more scuba diving in both places. Oh well, have to go, I need another Corona.

glad to hear your having fun. It's great up here in Chicago too. Freezing rain, sleet and snow. Oh and it's cold too.

I saw you were logged on and thought :wtf..... To bad you missed Belize, beautiful diving there. I remember being down about 60 feet and rolling over to see the bottom of the dive boat. Roatan, I didnt even get off the boat. One look at the town and we headed to the ships bar..... for another Corona. Very jealous of the Grand Cayman stop, its on my bucket list! Enjoy and Happy Holidays

I dove at Costa Maya and it was beautiful. Went down to 68 feet on the first dive and 43 on the second. Clear, turquoise water and white sand and lots of cool stuff to see. Roatan is supposed to be a beautiful place to dive, also. I'll report on it tomorrow. Hopefully, the beautiful weather we have now will hold up.

I heard there was a blue and gold, almost complete fastback for sale cheap in Tucson.....some guy....Mid something or other was selling it....

Sounds like a good time.

Rubbing salt in my wounds... damn I sure could use a beach vacation. Then, the only salt would be used for tequila shots!

Enjoy the rest of your trip, Laurie!!!

Yup, it's sold! Unfortunately, with my 10% commission, I only made $100. Oh well.

Laurie: pick me up some good Cuban cigars!

No, I don't have an underwater camera yet. I figured I'd better work on my skills some first.

Mid, I would buy cigars but I would have to smoke them on the ship.

I can't believe you're out there in the warm waters drinking Coronas (and no pics) while we're stuck here freezing our azzes off in the snow & ice :ecit

THAT DID IT

:bird :bird :bird :bird :bird and one for the he!! of it :bird

Long, fun day today on the island of Roatan, Honduras. Went scuba diving at the far end of the island and had two good dives. Saw three sea turtles, a huge lobster, and lots of different fish. Got a new maximum depth of 71 feet. Dove with the divemaster--we just went off together and it was really nice. He said I was a very good diver with good buoyancy and a good slow swim. Made me feel good. I did have a scare trying to get back to the ship. The dive shop sent me off in one of their taxis and I heard something funny coming from the front end. All of a sudden, the driver pulled over and the brakes were smoking badly. He flagged down another taxi, paid the driver, and I was on my way again. But, this was a local taxi and first he stopped for gas, then he took the other passengers into the downtown area (which is an alleyway practically, and tried to pick up a hooker (the male passenger stopped him). I was really getting worried that I would miss the ship, but I made it.

Tomorrow's a sea day, then on to Grand Cayman for more scuba diving!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I am dreaming of a tropical Christmas for next year. Sounds like you are having a great time.
Almost missing the boat is a scary feeling. We had a family miss the boat when we went on our cruise this summer.

They had to shuttle them out to the boat on a little dingy and then they climbed up a rope ladder to get on the ship. Of course half the ship was watching and cheering. :lol
