Hiking in the Swiss Alps

Alright, here you go....I just didn't want to muck up Craig's thread any more than I already had. I know I'll regret posting these, but what the heck......

Hiking in the Swiss Alps, June 2008. We headed off on a 5 hr hike that went through water falls, dense forests and Alpen meadows. It was some cool arse hiking! We were in the small town of Meiringen for a week. The town is famous for "inventing" Meringue and where Sherlock Holmes falls to his death at Reichenbach Falls.

They had a "zip" ride at the top that we both had to hike up to ride, it was pretty cool, near 12,000'

I like the picture where you are tring to push Deb over the railing. She had a death grip on that fence rail.

Actually, it was more like me telling her to grip the railing tight to keep ME from falling! I am deathly terrified of heights. I've never let that fear stop me from doing stuff that involved heights.

When we were on the platform at the top, it was an expanded metal type floor that you could see right through, scared the shart outta me the entire time we were there.

So Mark, were the hills alive with the sound of music? They look like they were. :lol

Oh yeah, if I just could've taken some pics of the locals as I was singing. It was fun when I came across one of those big horns and was doing the Riccola commercial bit :lol :lol

Great pics, I am not a real big fan of heights either, standing on a roof bothers me more than a plane or mountain though, kinda screwy.

You needed a cow bell around your neck, so the locals would make way for the big-eared animal...

Nice pics! I enjoyed my 15 hour stay in Switzerland driving around as well!

Switzerland is a great country...I lived there for a year in 2000. Worked in massive wine cellars belonging to a big fancy hotel in Bern. It was my job to look after all drinks and It was normal to drink beer at work. Sometimes you dont realise how lucky you are.......

Mark,
That's quite a bong you're working on in that last pic. Bet you didn't need an altimeter to figure how high you were - LOL
