Hit a deer yesterday

So on my way home from work yesterday I had a deer jump out in front of me. It jumped out over the woods and into the fastlane of the highway right where I was, hit it going about 55-60mph

Wow, sucks about your car, no doubt...but be grateful the timing wasn't a little different and he didn't come through your windshield. Cars are easier and cheaper to repair than humans.

First glad you are ok.
Second glad you were driving a modern car...not the Mustang
Third not too much damage, per se

I bet your heart was beating real fast after that. :amaz

I hit one a few years back in the wife's car, cruising home at 55 around 11:00 at night on a country road and pitch dark. BAM !! :eek It'll sure pucker-up the 'ole keester hole.

Glad you are ok. There are much better items equipped for hunting deer than a car is. The car does work for out of season hunting though.....

didnt get the deer meat, i hit him and never saw where he landed or where he went, no trace of him on the 3 lane highway even. No idea where he went i just pulled over and couldnt believe i hit another deer, my second one within a year with the same car

Wow that sucks. We see a lot of deer on roads by us. My wife has hit several.
One came in through the front winshield once and was completely inside her car. She has a polaroid of it, Just 2 feet sticking out of the windshield.
We now carry a $0 deductible on comp for just this reason.

that sucks, glad your okay. I grew up in the Midwest and have totaled a few vehicles hitting deer! I almost hit a cow with the Mutang last year... :scar

Wow, glad you're ok!! I remember years ago(39 years ago), my father was coming home from his grocery store(12:amish), and coming down a lonley dark road, a horse jumped out in front of his new '72 Ford Explorer(gabber blue), he hit it square~ rolled up onto the windhield, rolled off, and ran off, sadly only to die later. My father sounded his horn as there was no one around, the from out of nowhere, a man walks up, says his name E.G. Miley, he owned the horse and it had full coverage insurance and paid for a new truck as Dads was totalled! Dad wasn't hurt at all!
