Holy cow....

Just out of curiosity this morning I was checking into how much the executive MBA program at A&M costs...they say it runs about $75k...holy cow!

Thinking instead about looking into what it takes to get my CFP certification. I had started the CFP program at U of H about 11 years ago but then we had twins and I got a bit side tracked.

Education is such an expensive PITA. However, I am thinking it would be a good idea to plan ahead now and start looking at some options. Not worried about loosing my job today or tomorrow but might eventually want / need to move jobs. Right now I work for a wealthy family but I am not 100% certain the kids will continue with the family office arrangement when the old man dies at some point down the road. I am wondering if the add'l letters behind my name would be worth the bs you have to go through to get them though. I am almost leaning towards thinking they aren't worth the time / cost since I already have a CPA and ~ 15 years experience.

I'm thinking on doing the same. I need more certifications. The more I get, the bigger my check gets and I can get out of doing field calls. I'm thinking Cisco(at least CCNA) and virtualization software(VMWare), maybe something else down the road.

I've been doing more research and came across a designation the AICPA has that is similar to the CFP....that might be a good route for me to take since I am already a member of the AICPA.
