is it hard to replace the hood hinge springs on a 66? Do I need to remove the hood, or can it be done with hood still attached?

on my 69, i opened the hood and supported it. then using a big screwdriver popped the spring off and popped a new one back on.

Eather prop the hood open or have a helper hold it up.
Take s piece of rope and place it thru the hood side of the spring and pull.
It doesn't take a lot to replace them.

A trick I have been using that my dad taught me is simply use a small chain and hook it on the end of the spring and pull, it couldn't be any easier. Rich.
I use either an old fan belt or a pants belt. It's not that hard to tug on one end and slip it off of the hook.
