If I cut this...

out of my car what's the best thing to do with it?

I am pretty sure the recycle center will take it. Is that my best option for getting rid of it?

I am keeping it where it is for the short term since I was taking clips and so forth off of it last night and may cut a small piece off the good side of the old radiator support to do a fast patch on one spot but the rest of it needs to find a new home.

I have heard there are places that will buy scrap metal but a small piece like this is most likely not worth the drive.

I usually take stuff like that to my mom's for once a month heavy duty pickup. We pile stuff in her ditch, but usually the stuff will be gone before it's picked up by the city! :pep

amazing how closely scrap is to crap! :rofl I have a large pile of sCrap to get rid of too!

Now that I think about it...isn't that the place that used to advertise they pay in $2 bills?

The boys were bugging me to look around and find a couple of $2 bills I have around the house somewhere....

I can't imagine my old fender apron would be even worth $2 however.

I don't throw anything out until the car is on the road and actually moving under its own power. You never know when you might need the original piece again to determine how you screwed something up.

Yep, that's the place.

I agree...it is still sitting in the breeze way at my house in case I need it for reference but I hope to have the car back together pretty soon. Hopefully this weekend. Last night I did manage to get the backside of one of the fenders painted and also got the bracket that goes on the fender apron to bolt the fender to welded on and painted.

The boys are having their b-day party at the house next weekend so I either need to get rid of the old metal or at least hide it somewhere before then. The wife is hounding me to get the car back up and running before next Saturday in case it rains and we end up needing that side of the garage for some of the boys' party activities. Guess she doesn't realize all one would have to to do is put her in neutral and start pushing, :crazy

I don't have much to go. Have to hang the fenders, put the rocker moldings back on, put the grill, bumper, etc on the front, put the radiator back in and then install the new transmission cooling lines that I bought. Also haven't put the new battery tray in just yet but I need to run to the hardware store to pick up a few bolts for that one.

Slowly but surely as they say but I am getting there. Glad to, I am sick of my car being off the road and really wanting to take it for a spin.
