Since I don't own a Salmon rod setup, I had to borrow one from my wife's fishing buddy Jimmy couple weeks ago when I landed two nice fish. I fell in love with the setup (Seeker 7' glass rod & a Penn 320Gt2 level wind reel) and asked Jimmy if he'd consider selling it. A firm "no" came back, so the wife's been shopping online, etc looking for a decent setup for me for Father's day ideas, while consulting with Jimmy as to what she should get me.
Yesterday afternoon the wife comes home from work, walks into the kitchen with yes, my favorite rig that I had borrowed. I asked: "Why are you borrowing that rig from Jimmy now, for I wasn't planning to fish for another couple weeks?" She smiled and said "It's not Jimmy's anymore, here ya go honey, happy belated Bday and upcoming Father's Day".
