Protect an engine while its awaiting to get put into a vehicle when I dont have an engine stand?

The best way? Go spend $60 for an engine stand and cover it in plastic. (The engine that is....after you've put it on the stand)

Sit it on an old tire to balance it and cover it with plastic. If sored for an extremely long time, shoot some oil down the spark plug holes and turn the crank to spread the oil. Then wrap.

Or put it in the car and drive it.

What Pete said. Get a tire and a pallet. Tire on the pallet, engine on the tire with it strapped to the pallet. Cover it in plastic.

I've had great success in the past with protecting precious parts with Lifestyles.

Garbage bags, clear plastic, anything that will allow a bit of breathing....don't over think this.
