How much does your oil pressure fluctuate?

I noticed the other day that when I start the car and let it idle it stays steady, but after driving it a little its seems to drop about 10-15 pounds when sitting at a red light. It goes back up once I am moving. Just curious if this is normal or not.

Totally normal. As the oil heats up it gets thinner (less pressure). As you rev the engine, the oil pump spins faster, causing the pressure to go up.

These guys are just pull'n your chain, sounds like you need to R & R the engine.

On my 302, cold idle-50+ psi, warm idle-25 psi, warm cruising-50 psi. This is on an Auto Meter elec. gauge. 9000 miles on the engine, 10w40 oil I think.

Its not like I haven't been searching for a stroked 351 short block supplier......

I looked at it, the dude had a lien against it (he was the lien holder). He didnt have the title. It had been off the road (according to him, about 5 years) but the tags showed 1994. It had typical rust spots for a '55 Ford Truck. Maybe a little more than I was looking to take on.
