How to get Ford parts sold on cars in the UK?

Looking for suspension parts (knuckles, lower control arms, etc) from a car that is sold in the UK and not here in the US. Can I buy from a local dealership or will I have to go thru Ford UK?

I have wondered that myself. In my research the local dealer can't or won't get the parts. I have used people thru forums or work contacts to get overseas stuff.

I think it is more of a "won't". I couldn't get a single dealer in the entire Chicago area to drop ship a part directly to me (it was not a stocked part by anyone). I found a Ford dealer in BF Wisconsin who got my call at 2 p.m., found a Ford parts DC that had it, and still managed to get the part delivered to my door by 8:30 a.m. the next morning...for a whole $5.55 upcharge on the $7.55 normal freight charge.

Some people just aren't willing to do much of anything to help a consumer out anymore.

Why not have your son in Germany head over there and pick them up, let Uncle Sam pay the shipping back to the states?

That has been a thought, but I need a little more time to figure out what exact parts I need and he only has a week or so left (part numbers are not matching up). If all else fails, I have a couple of friends in London that would help out. I meant to hit the local Ford dealer today but didn't have time. I will try again tomorrow.
